Continuous Flow
Within the pharmaceutical industry, Continuous Flow Manufacturing (CFM) is becoming an alternative to traditional batch chemistry. While it cannot be used on all reactions, there are some reactions that can be considered. Some key advantages of CFM include :
(a) faster and safer reactions that are typically more environmentally friendly
(b) a smaller footprint
(c) a potentially higher quality product and/or a higher process yield
(d) provide the possibility to perform difficult chemistries that is difficult or impossible to do in batch mode, and many others.
